JOSEPH C. BLANTON, JR. graduated from the University of Virginia in 1982 and the University of Texas Law School in 1985. He was admitted to practice in Missouri in 1985 and in Illinois in 1986. Blanton is also admitted to practice in the U. S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri and for the District of Columbia, as well as before the US Supreme Court and the Seventh, Eighth and DC Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals. From 1985 to 1987, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Stephen N. Limbaugh, United States District Judge for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri. He is a former member of the Board of Governors of The Missouri Bar and the Missouri Supreme Court Civil Rules Committee. Blanton practices primarily in the areas of medical malpractice and product liability defense, complex commercial litigation, Federal Court litigation, business transactions, and estate planning. Blanton has received the President’s Award from The Missouri Bar. He is a member of the American Bar Foundation and the Litigation Counsel of America. Blanton is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell and has been designated a Missouri Super Lawyer by Law and Politics Magazine each year since 2006.
