     THOMAS W. COLLINS, III, is a native of Caruthersville, Missouri, located in the Missouri bootheel where he graduated with honors from Caruthersville High School. Tom graduated from the University of Missouri Columbia in 1994 earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in both Finance & Banking and Real Estate. Tom earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri Columbia in 1997.

     While in law school, he was a member of the Journal of Dispute Resolution and the Missouri Environmental Law and Policy Review where he served as Note & Comment Editor. He also co-authored, "Environmental Justice and TSD Siting Policies: Title VI is the Plaintiff's Newest and Best Weapon, But Will it Succeed in Missouri?" 3 Missouri Environmental Law & Policy Review 78 (1996).

     Tom is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association. Prior to joining the firm, Tom was a shareholder with the firm of McDowell, Rice, Smith & Gaar, P.C. in Kansas City, Missouri. Tom practices primarily in the areas of complex commercial litigation, medical malpractice defense and personal injury.

     Tom was admitted to practice in Missouri in 1997 and Kansas in 1998. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
