Recent Agricultural Representation (Farm Credit Systems)

Attorneys Joseph C. Blanton, Jr, and Patrick R. Douglas have continued to represent an Arkansas agricultural credit association in a large and unprecedented transaction involving the sale of its loan portfolio and distribution of the association’s equity to the farmer members of the association.  This alternative to a standard merger has never occurred in the Farm Credit System prior to this transaction.   The transaction has received preliminary approval from the Farm Credit Administration, the association’s farm credit bank, Agribank, ACA, and the association’s shareholders (by unanimous vote).   The Firm during the past year has also represented Farm Credit System associations in Texas, Missouri, and New Mexico.
